...It's no wonder this is the #1 attraction in Santiago,
Chile. Both the Old Santiago and Wine tours were
in small groups (4 people). Upon returning to Chile
I would not hesitate to
book another tour with Andres again. |

Hi Andres, wonderful new ideas and projects!!
We hope to come back in the future, this time together
as a family - in the meantime we continue to recommend
your tours. The lovely memories of the tour I did,
carried me a long time during the daily routine
here in NZ. All the best. |

How are you all? I had such a great trip
last year and I really enjoyed my stay in Santiago.
I would love to come back one day. I love the idea
of your bicycle tour to Patagonia. I found the walking
trip there amazing, though it snowed and was freezing.
The wind was phenomenal, whipping up the waves into
frothy spray. The cloud formations were spectacular
as well! I keep thinking about the wives of the
disappeared and their tapestries. It was very inspiring
to see their work, and to have the chance to talk
about it all. I felt less like a tourist, and more
like an interested party, so thank you so much for
the tour. Regards to you all. |

... I wanted you to know that I would come
back to Santiago just to do another one of your
trips. Maybe we'll do a multi-day to the wine country
next time. I even think I'm up to the "physically
demanding" night tour! You (and Carola) feel
like friends, and we had such a good time! Thanks
again for everything, and I hope to see you next
time we are in
Chile. |

ciudad oculta. |

Franke-Bruhn, Germany …I can say
that I was quite fortunate having the possibility
to discover the city on two very different tours
with different bikes as a single customer although
I wouldn't mind to bike in a group. Your tour was
so much fun having a good quality bike, a great
local guide with a deep interest in architecture
(…) and covering a great many parks and suburbs
during the ride. Also the attention to detail counts
a lot…Personally I was very impressed by
the instant answers via email and the extra ideas

...the tour definately takes you off the beaten
track but also includes the main sites. It really
gives you an insight to what it's like to live in
Santiago. Andrés was lovely and his enthusiasm
was very apparent, also, his wife's home cooking
was amazing: the soup was especially delightful!
I would recommend this 5 hour day trip to anyone
who is able-bodied. You don't need to be really
fit as the city is flat. I also think it would be
a good day out for families. (If you are into architeture
it would be extra special!) I hope this helps people
make up their minds. I would highly recommend this
to everyone. |

I organised with "Paseos Bicicleta" some
time in advance and regular contact leading up to
the tour had me looking forward to it. It was obvious
from the start Andrés had a love of this
city , it's architecture and history, which luckily
for me he conveyed in English ! The intimate tour
(six people in total) took in the tourist highlights
initially but then meandered through to where you
find out how the "real" people of Santiago
live. All at a safe and leisurely pace you see the
areas of renewal of the city as well as those that
have not been touched for many decades. A clear
sunny day and a home prepared picnic lunch in the
old Botanical gardens (complete with a fine local
red) topped the day off. Thanks again Andrés
- I highly recommend this tour. |

If you're looking for something a bit different
in Santiago, try a biking tour with "Paseos
en Bicicleta". Its a wonderful way to see the
old city. Andrés, the guide is very friendly
and keen to share his knowledge of Santiago's history
and architecture. He is careful to take you on the
quieter streets away from the traffic as much as
possible. On the trip I did, he even provided a
lunch in the park, complete with white tablecloth.
A wonderful introduction to Old Santiago! |

tour; me explicó cosas típicas santiaguinas
!!! |

I want to absolutely recommend a bike tour of Santiago
I took on Saturday May 30 (2008). We started off
from Plaza Baquedano, and for five hours enjoyed
Santiago in a very special and unique way, in my
opinion the best way to get to know this city. I
already knew many of the places we visited either
by car or walking, but from a bike you have a different
perspective, a strangely mind-boggling experience!!!!
Andrés Garrido is the mind and legs behind
this project, and I warmly congratulate him for
his sensitivity and the warmth he’s put into
this jewel. Andrés revealed details about
this city in such an entertaining way that we didn’t
realize that we had spent several hours riding a
bike. Highly recommended for all those who want
to enjoy a very different experience!!! This is
a very, very fine tour. |

We liked this trip very much because it showed us
new aspects of the city we’ve been living
in for over 20 years. We rode our bikes through
amazing barrios and we sometimes had the feeling
of being in a different country. The route is very
well planned; fascinating buildings and streets
keep on showing throughout the 5 hour-ride in very
different areas of the city, and it is not tiring.
The guides are very nice people and show a great
passion for the city and the barrios, its architecture
and history. And there is a very good and restoring
picnic! |

I took a friendly, tranquil, informative tour of
Santiago that was good exercise but leisurely enough
to enjoy the sculptures, learn inside information
about the buildings and their history, get to know
little-known parts of the city, and experience sunset
at the top of Cerro San Cristóbal complete
with wine and cheese.
It was with a new tour company, Paseos en Bicicleta,
http://www.paseosenbicicleta.cl . It's run by a
local architect assisted by guides of different
vocations who speak various languages, bringing
a number of points of view to the brief discussions
that spring up at the stopping points. The tour
was a treat for both body and mind! |

Just returned from Santiago (April, 08) and took
the bike tour by www.paseosenbicicleta.cl and was
great. We booked ahead and kept contact with Andres.
He was very patient and even came pick us up at
our hotel because we weren't familiar with the area.
I highly recommended taking this tour because you
get to see the hidden gems in Santiago. The tour
is about 5 hours long with a lunch break in the
park.

I did a bike trip with Paseos en Bicicleta last
weekend in Santiago which was pretty cool. Covered
the main areas of town but also included some quirky
backstreets in Barrio Brazil and a nice picnic in
Parque Quinta Normal (great homemade soup!). Lots
of history from colonial to contempory and interesting
side-bars such as quirky restaurants and cool litte
markets. Five hour tour so good value and got to
cover lots of kms and plenty of ideas for exploring
on my own later! |

A pesar

Andrés, the trip exceeded all our expectations:
I had no idea how pleasant it was going to be to
get to know our city on a bike. Everywhere we were
impressed with the beauty of modest but very interesting
sites of Santiago. More than a present, this trip
presented the opportunity of re-enchanting ourselves
with our city. Thank you and we’ll be seeing
you again in the night tour. A big hug. |

I coordinated this trip from the United States,
and they made it pretty easy. Andres speaks English
perfectly and helped arrange the trip and a meeting
place…
The ride was great, and Andres adjusted to the pace
of our group. Much of the ride was through parks,
so it wasn't particularly dangerous. Even where
we rode on narrow streets, there wasn't much traffic
since it was a Saturday. Being an architect, Andrés
had a great knowledge of the city (especially buildings)
and pointed out a lot of sights to us. I'd definitely
recommend this, just make sure you allow for 4-6
hours (for the full trip)… |

Santiago is an ideal city to get to know by bike.
One company that leads guided tours by bicycle to
different points of the city is www.paseosenbicicleta.cl
(English version).Riding a bike in Santiago is nice,
as the city which seems so large by car takes on
a much more human scale, especially since you can
cover some of the beautiful old neighbourhoods at
a speed in between slow walking where you can't
get everywhere you want to go (Brasil neighbourhood
in the old section is a good example) and the impersonal
car tour. Try a bike ride up up the Parque Metropolitano
San Cristobal (San Cristobal for short), which has
perfect pavement, careful drivers, and on weekday
mornings, stunningly few other joggers or cyclists
for all it offers: a view to kill for (Andes and
the city). Jogging is great and there are many dirt
trails through the woods. If you are a real early
bird, you may spook the rabbits on the trails. |

maravilla me rodea... volví encantado y con

This bike-based tour is great! You venture into
amazing neighborhoods full of architectural gems
left from bygone days, with informative narratives
from knowledgeble and sympatico guides. The guides
are fluent in English and demonstrate expertise
in a wide range of subjects. The lunch they provide
is fantastic! All in all, the time spent with this
group was one of highlights of my Santiago experience. |
